Gaye Soley, PhD (Lab Director)
Dr. Soley is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at Boğaziçi University. She received her PhD from Harvard University. Upon completing her PhD, Dr. Soley worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Pompeu Fabra University for two years. Her research focuses on social-cognitive development and music perception.

Graduate Assistants: 
Güneş Öner (Lab Manager)
Güneş received her bachelor’s degreee in Management Engineering from İstanbul Technical University. After working in the finance sector for nineteen years, in 2018, she started her remedial year in the Psychology Department of Boğaziçi University. In the same year, Güneş worked in the Baby and Child Development Laboratory in various studies and is currently studying for a master’s degree in Developmental Psychology at Boğaziçi University. Her research interests include social learning in infants and social group perception in early childhood.

Özdeş Çetin
Özdeş received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Middle East Technical University in 2019. She worked as a summer intern in Koç University Language and Communication Development Laboratory. Completing her bachelor’s degree, she took part in TAÇEP (Turkey Family, Child and Adolescent Project). She is continuing her education in Developmental Psychology Master’s Program at Boğaziçi University. She is interested in development of intergroup relationships and moral development in children.

Simge Ersönmez
Simge received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boğaziçi University. In her undergraduate years, she worked as a research assistant on various studies at Baby and Child Development Lab. She is currently studying for a master’s degree in Developmental Psychology at Boğaziçi University. She is interested in the development of social relations, the perception of social norms and categories in infancy and childhood as well as their moral development.

Mahmut Kurupınar
Mahmut received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Boğaziçi University in 2020. During his undergraduate years, Mahmut worked on various projects at Baby and Child Laboratory for 2 years and he is currently a graduate student in Developmental Psychology at Boğaziçi University. His research interests include social group perception in early childhood and the effect of intergroup biases on learning and teaching behaviour.

Neslihan Oğuz
Neslihan received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Istanbul University. She worked as a researcher on various projects at Istanbul University during her undergraduate years. In 2019, she worked as an assistant in developmental psychology-focused project courses at Istanbul University. She is currently a first year graduate student in Developmental Psychology Master’s Program at Boğaziçi University. At the same time, she runs a TUBITAK-supported project on prosocial lie telling behavior in young children. She is interested in social interaction, development of theory of mind, lying behavior in young children, as well as infant-directed songs and speeches.

Oya Serbest
Oya received her bachelor’s degree as the valedictorian in Psychology from Boğaziçi University. Besides experiences in various clinical settings and foundations during her undergraduate years, she worked as a research assistant on various projects at Baby and Child Development Lab under the supervision of Dr. Soley and on the Istanbul95 project under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Çorapçı. She is currently studying for a master’s degree in Developmental Psychology at Boğaziçi University. Her research interests include social learning in infancy and childhood, music perception, communication with infants and children as well as neurodevelopmental disorders.

Pınar Karan
Pınar received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boğaziçi University in 2020. During her undergraduate years, Pınar worked as a research assistant at Baby and Child Developmental Lab under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Gaye Soley and at Developmental Lab under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Feyza Çorapçı. Moreover, she worked with Prof. Dr. Çorapçı on the Istanbul95 project. She is currently a graduate student in Developmental Psychology at Boğaziçi University. Her research interests include the role of parenthood on children’s learning process, children’s socioemotional development, cultural diversity on children’s learning process.
